Today at 6:30 PM: Girlfriends

Good Morning Ladies

Hope you had a good meeting last Tuesday. I had a great time at our village Christmas dinner. We had a harpist for music and it was wonderful.

Well we will be finishing the “Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” this next Tuesday. Will be starting with chapter 26 to the end of the book. I must say this has been a book full of twists and turns. Some I didn’t see coming. But it was a very enjoyable read.

Next book per our list is either Rachel Evans “Wholehearted Faith or “If the Church  were Christian” by Philip Gulley. So think about which book it will be. Will be deciding at our meeting. We have read a couple of Rachel Evans books and always a good read.

We will be taking a few weeks off after next Tuesday, to get the new book, and celebrate the season. Will start the new book with first meeting on Jan.9, 2023 at 6:30pm. (boy that seems strange to write 2023!)

The second best sale will be May 18,19,20th. with the profits going to the gardening club/group for supplies, tools, and plants. They are doing such an awesome job making the church grounds look better.

Are we still on for lunch at Mr. Burger on Dec.17th at noon? Just a time to share some Christmas cheer and fellowship. Hope you all can still come. I’m looking forward to it.

If anyone is interested in helping I will be putting gift bags together at church starting at 10am on the 17th also.

Have a great rest of your week. See you Sunday

Stay safe

Today at 6:30 PM: Girlfriends

Good morning Ladies

Hope you all had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving. Enjoyed your turkey and all the fixing. Time spend with family and friends. We all have so much to be thankful for. We continue our very interesting pilgrimage with Harold Fry this next week (Nov.29th) in the book “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce. This has been quite an interesting journey so far.  I can’t say it’s something I would do without pre planning and a lot of thought.

On Tuesday  Nov. 29th we will starting on page 184, the beginning of chapter 17 and discussing to page 229 the start of chapter 22 about 45 pages. Hope you're as interested as I am to see what happens next and how far he travels. Thinking about trips and unplanned things we had to travel for, and know we put more thought into it than Mr. Fry did. Oh well, just my thoughts on an interesting read.

We will be meeting at 6:30 on Nov.29 on zoom. Link will be in this email and a reminder message on the 29th. Girlfriends is open to anyone who enjoys reading and discussing books. We are always open to new members (from St.John’s or others interested in sharing)

Girlfriends can be contacted at girlfriends@stjohnsuccgr.org.

Have a great week, gobble gobble day, find great bargains if your that Black Friday/Saturday shopper. But most of all be careful and safe this Holiday week. Especially if your traveling.

See you Sunday or next Tuesday.

Wondering if we would want to meet in person one night for dinner?

Mr. Burger is close to the church ? Or another place if you know someplace.
Just thought it might be nice before Christmas?
