Fajita Sunday, May 5!

It’s Cinco de Mayo Fajita Sunday at St. John’s time! Plan on staying after our 10am worship service for a delicious lunch on Sunday, May 5 at 11am. Salsa made from scratch, toasted tortillas, perfectly marinated and grilled steak, chicken, and veggies, pico de gallo, chips, cheese, etc. Come enjoy an authentic and delicious meal made with love by Tony Garza, Dave Bradford, and volunteers. Bring your friends, ALL are welcome!

Mother's Day Brunch, May 12

Treat your mother, your grandmother, your chosen family mom friends, and yourself to Mother’s Day Brunch at St. John’s UCC on Sunday, May 12 after our 10am service during 11am fellowship hour. Enjoy hot breakfast entrees, pastries, juice, coffee, and tea as we honor all maternal figures. We’re looking for volunteers to sign-up on the fellowship board for this annual event. Darkness to Light Class, May 19

St. John’s UCC is a safe space. We train our teachers proper boundaries, we instill safe policies, we raise the children with Child Safe Classes as part of Sunday School to empower them with proper boundaries and self-confidence, and we consistently run background checks on all volunteers who work with youth.

Darkness to Light is another Free Adult Class offered at St. John’s. Gather with us in the library during fellowship hour on Sunday, May 19 to learn more ways to prevent sexual abuse in the lives of all youth. Childcare is provided. Dégagé Shelter Dinner

On Sunday, April 28, 5:30pm - 7:00pm, St. John’s Mission Team Volunteers will be serving lasagna dinners downtown at Dégagé in the Heartside district. Faith in action opportunity!

Dégagé Shelter offers help and hope to 400 - 500 homeless and disadvantaged individuals in our community every day. We reflect the love of Christ to all who come through the doors which fosters dignity and respect. We arrive at Dégagé at 5:30pm to set up. We serve dinner from 6pm - 7pm. Spring Congregational Meeting, April 28

On Sunday, April 28, after our 10am worship service, we will gather in fellowship hall for our Spring Congregational Meeting. You will find the meeting packet with the complete agenda and the annual team reports on our secure members page located on our website (StJohnsUCCgr.org), as well as on our new church phone app for iOS and Android devices. Holy Week Gatherings

Reminder: We have four more opportunities this week. Maundy Thursday Living Last Supper Service is Thursday, April 18 at 7:30pm. Community Easter Egg Hunt and Lunch is Saturday, April 20 at 11:00am. Easter Vigil Service is Holy Saturday, April 20 at 7:00pm. Easter Morning Service is Sunday, April 21 at 10:00am. Nursery is provided. ALL are welcome!

Maundy Thursday Service April 18, 7:30pm

Gather with us on Thursday, April 18 at 7:30pm for Maundy Thursday Service at St. John's UCC. Our youth and adults will be reenacting The Living Last Supper as part of the service. All are welcome! 1934 Bridge St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. StJohnsUCCgr.org.

Kids Give Back Palm Sunday Lunch 4/14

On Sunday, April 14 at 11am, you are invited to a Spaghetti Lunch at St. John's UCC! This meal will be prepared and presented by our Worship Center youth as a thank you to church family for supporting them throughout the nine month class season. Students will be given an apron and a task. High school teens are encouraged to come help younger students prepare the feast and set the tables as well.
