Community Easter Egg Hunt & Lunch, Saturday, April 20

Gather with us on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11am for the annual St. John’s UCC Community Easter Egg Hunt & Lunch! Invite your kid’s friends, your grandkids, neighbors, ALL are welcome! The Easter Egg Hunt will be done in two age groups (5 and under, and ages 6+) so little ones have a chance to find a bunch. Weather permitting, we’ll be outside on the lawn, or inside if it’s a rainy day. Please sign up your family for our egg hunt on the Fellowship bulletin board, or call our office at (616) 453-2497.

VOLUNTEER Opportunities include donating individually wrapped candy, as well as stickers, rings, and other novelty items that fit inside plastic eggs. We’re accepting donations of new small stuffed animal bunnies that will be part of the fun that day. We would also love for you to volunteer to help fill plastic eggs, help hide eggs on the lawn, help prepare or serve lunch on April 20, and assist with clean-up. Please see project leaders Diana DeKorte and Dan Busman to see where they can best use your time and talent.

St. John's Food Pantry, Wednesday, April 3, 5-7pm!

The first Wednesday of every month, from 5pm-7pm, is our mobile food pantry. We need your help to unload the truck, bag produce into family-sized portions, and set up all of the free groceries on tables from 5pm-6pm. If you are able to stay and serve guests from 6pm-7pm, you are welcome. Weather permitting, we’re hoping this is our first mobile pantry of Spring held outside on our beautiful lawn. We serve year-round, rain, snow, or shine, so we move inside on wet/cold months.

Bring your friends at 5pm. We have tasks for every ability. All are welcome, you do not have to be a member of the church to serve with St. John's. Please see Theresa Bileth or email Mission@StJohnsUCCgr.org if you have questions.

The Fix on I-196 Highway Closure

April 1 - August 30, westbound I-196 will be closed downtown over the Grand River with ramp closures in that interchange. Closed ramps are US-131 southbound to eastbound I-196, and US-131 northbound to westbound I-196. Many people will need to take alternate routes to church all Summer. Our city is adding a lane over the Grand River.

All westbound traffic on I-196 will have to exit on Fuller, College, or Ottawa Ave. The Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) recommended detour is to take I-96 West to US-131 South to I-196 beyond the construction. You will then be able to reach our exit at Lake Michigan Drive.
