Tuesday, Friends Book Discussion Group

Dear Friends, so first off our New time will be Monday evenings!!!Hope that works for you!!  We will continue to meet at 6:30 for time to catch up and share thoughts and prayers for the coming week.  And then discuss the book for about one hour, give or take!!!  I think we will start meeting on September 14, which is the Monday after Labor Day Holiday.  I will schedule a zoom meeting for that time and date.  Some of our members suggested reading some of the books by Marcus J. Borg.  So to start us off,  let's take a look at "Reading the Bible for the First Time, Taking the Bible Seriously but Not Literally".  I also have "Meeting Jesus again for the First Time" on my book shelf--maybe for an other time.  Reading the Bible--was published in 2006--so I was able to purchase mine used for about $5.00.  If you need help purchasing--please let me know.  I would also like to suggest for our next book, we read "Theo of Golden" by Allen Levi.  I think this will be a great read in the winter time--a little lighter.  This is a book that many book clubs are reading--with good reason.  Enjoy the beautiful Michigan days.  Barb Huitema  616-438-1336.
