Today at 6:30 PM: Tuesday Friends Discussion Group
/Dear Friends, So we finished our discussion on Sarah McBride's book, "Tomorrow will be Different". Such a informative, but also heart felt book about her life and for me very educational and an empathy builder. Thank you to everyone who joined us. We will take a couple of weeks off and then on April 15--Holy Week--we will do a two week discussion based on the Stained Glass windows of St. Johns. This will be in person. There is a booklet in the pews, "A Journey Through the Gospels" that we will use as a resource. You can also find this document on the member page of our web site. Go to member page, then resources and then historical records to find your own copy or borrow one from a church pew. Sometimes we take artwork for granted--I hope our discussion will help us to appreciate this beautiful art and help us contemplate the gospel stories of Holy Week. Everyone is welcome.
On May 3, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM there will be a discussion with Kristen DuMez and Nick Wolterstorff, sponsored by the Institute of Christian Studies and the Reformed Journal. The topic is "Free to be faithful together with courage and conviction". This is a free event at Eastern Avenue Church, But you need tickets, If you would like to come to this meeting, let me know. Another interesting event, that I think I will attend is "Red State Revival", an evening with Nadia Bolz-Weber, on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 7:00- 8:45PM at Fountain Street Church--thanks for letting me know--Kay S.
