Today at 5:00 PM: Mobile Food Pantry

Food pantries have seen a jump in demand, need fueled by inflation and cuts in federal aid. The June Mobile Food Pantry sponsored by St. John's was record braking, serving 88 households, 348 individuals, 63 seniors. 145 children, and 14 veterans. A total of 21 amazing volunteers distributed 4,856 pounds of food: the menu included macaroni and cheese, apples, asparagus, milk, sweet potatoes, hazelnuts, bread and protein shakes. A small amount of surplus food was delivered to UCOM by Richard Johnson. On July 5 volunteers will gather at 5:00 pm at Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church, located at 1550 Oswego NW, Grand Rapids, MI, 49504. Food distribution begins at 6:00 pm.
