Small Groups Underway for All Ages

St. John’s United Church of Christ holds weekly** spiritual formation groups for all ages on Sundays, September thru May.  Classes meet after worship. During and after worship our nursery staff cares for children from birth through age 2.

Susan Garza, Kelly DeWald, Michelle Summers and Victoria Bradford welcome children age 3 through kindergarten to Worship Center 1. Students will learn core stories from Scripture and gain a working knowledge of Bible characters.

Kids in grades 1-3 build on their basic Bible knowledge by exploring the values of familiar Scripture stories and new stories from a variety of spiritual traditions. Their Worship Center 2 teachers are Christian & Theresa Bileth, Emily Donahue and Zack Wilson.

Bridge Class teachers Michelle Hoffner and Crystal Soentgen help pre-teen youngsters in grades 4-6 complete the basic building blocks of Christian faith and spirituality by learning early church history and preparing to make a personal commitment to Jesus and his Church.  Applying the truths they learn to their pre-teen lives is a focus of this class.

Frank VanPelt and a team of other adults lead St. John's Youth Group.  After confirmation, teens explore their own lives in light of God's Story. Service projects and leading worship help teens find their place in God's Story.

Becky Tiedt and Bill Newsom welcome adults to explore a variety of topics in a spirituality class that meets in the church parlor/library at the same time as the classes for children and youth.

All St. John's teachers and nursery workers pass background checks and comply with our Safe Conduct Policy.

Let us pray for our teachers and students as they begin the next leg of their spiritual formation journey together beginning September 7.

** Spiritual formation classes do not meet the following Sundays in order to accommodate other events at St. John's UCC:
