Easter Weekend Worship Services Begin Tonight

Tonight (Thursday, April 17) at 7 p.m. St. John's United Church of Christ opens its doors to you, inviting you to do what Jesus did in an upstairs room the night before he died, washing one another’s feet (or hands) and taking Communion together. This worship service in the sanctuary begins our weekend of Easter services in which we celebrate the foundation of our faith - Jesus' resurrection. Other worship services include:

On Good Friday (tomorrow night, April 18), 7 p.m. at Trinity Reformed Church, 1224 Davis NW  we join our Westside sisters and brothers in Christ to follow the Biblical Way of the Cross. Musicians and clergy from our Westside congregations will lead worship.

"Jesus didn't die to make it possible for God to love us. Jesus died to show us how much God already loves us, and to end the rift in the relationship between people and God." from Pastor Bill's upcoming Good Friday meditation

At Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 19, (7 p.m.) we baptize two new Christians into Christ and welcome another new member to St. John's! This ancient service of fire, Scripture, water and communion marks the beginning of Easter at St. John's UCC. The service begins around a campfire before moving indoors.

The resurrection celebration continues on Sunday (April 20) at 10 a.m.!  Bell ringers lead the Resurrection Day procession as we praise God for the life Jesus shares with us.

May the power of Jesus' resurrection fill your life  with vitality this week and through the Easter season!
