St. John's UCC Annual 'Second Best' Sale!

Dear St. John’s Family,

Our second annual “Second Best” Sale is just around the corner, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to come together in support of our Capital Campaign! Every dollar raised will help us repave our parking lot, making our church safer and more accessible for all.

Date: Saturday, June 6
Time: 9am - 6pm
Location: St. John's UCC (last year we had both inside and outside; details are still being worked out for this year)

There are several meaningful ways you can help:

1. Donate items: We are collecting gently used clothing, toys, furniture, books, housewares, antiques, working electronics, linens, holiday décor, jewelry, and more. Please ensure items are complete, working, and clean! Donations can be dropped off at the church hall through Friday, May 31. You can also extend our reach by inviting friends, neighbors, and family to contribute!

2. Help sort and price: In the weeks leading up to the sale, we will need volunteers to organize and price items. Even an hour of your time can make a big difference. Watch for opportunities to help as they come up!

3. Volunteer during sale week and on June 6: Help is needed for setup, assisting shoppers, running tables, and clean-up. There are opportunities for all levels of availability!

4. Share the Facebook Event: The more visibility we have on this event, the bigger it will be! Share the event far and wide with your network. https://www.facebook.com/share/1KS6AMpgkq/

***Please mark your calendar: Saturday, June 6 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, rain or shine.***

This event is a reflection of our shared generosity and community spirit. Thank you for considering how you can take part! Questions? Contact Lindsey Kremer (lindskremer@gmail.com).

Today at 7:00PM: 🕯️ Good Friday — Tenebrae (Service of Shadows)

7:00 PM | In-Person & Online

In a world that feels heavy, Good Friday invites us to slow down and sit with the story.

Join us for a simple, somber Tenebrae service (about 30 minutes or so). Through Scripture, dramatic readings, quiet music, and brief reflections, we will walk the events from the Last Supper to the burial of Jesus as light gradually fades into shadow.

A sacred pause.
A space for honesty.
A reminder that even in darkness, God is present.

Easter at St. John's

Easter at St. John’s UCC — Worship & Egg Hunt!
10:00 AM Worship | Egg Hunt to Follow (around 11:00 AM)

Easter is a celebration of hope that refuses to stay buried!

In a world that can feel overwhelming, resurrection reminds us:
- Love is stronger than fear.
- Community is stronger than isolation.
- New life is always possible.

Join us at 10:00 AM for an uplifting Easter worship service filled with joyful music, meaningful reflection, and a message of real hope.

Then stick around! Immediately following worship, children are invited to a fun Easter Egg Hunt full of treats, prizes, and laughter. Because resurrection joy should be celebrated with sticky fingers and big smiles, too.

Whether you’ve been part of St. John’s for years or you’re looking for a place to belong this Easter — you are welcome here. No exceptions.
