Wednesday, February 04, 2026: Mobile Food Pantry

A Feeding America West Michigan Mobile Food Pantry is scheduled on February 4, 2026, sponsored by St. John's UCC in partnership with Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church.  Volunteers will gather at 5:00 pm at 1550 Oswego NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49504. Distribution begins at 6:00 pm. Last month, we distributed 5,437 pounds of food to 110 households, 361 individuals, 96 children, 81 seniors and 5 veterans.  Our volunteer army stood 31 volunteers strong. A big thank you to Tarah Teidt and Hypatia Morris Armock who were new to our crew.  A small amount of surplus food was delivered to UCOM by Richard Johnston.  Clients received 74 hand knitted hats, mittens and scarves made by love by Carol Stechow and an anonymous donor.  We are incredibly grateful to our donors and supporters of the mobile food pantry.  Because of you, we're able to serve our community. January 25, 2026: Sunday Worship Canceled

Due to the cold temperatures and an issue with our boiler being able to properly heat the sanctuary, Sunday Worship on January 25, 2026 is canceled.

The day's readings and sermon will be posted on our website, Facebook, and YouTube on Sunday.

Reminder that our ‘Souper Bowl’ canned soup drive is happening and goes through February 8. Please bring your canned soup and cracker donations next week!!

Join Our "Souper Bowl" Challenge! 🏈

As the Super Bowl approaches, we’re coming together to support our neighbors by helping stock the pantry at UCOM. Our goal this year is to collect 200 cans of soup (plus crackers!) to make a meaningful difference for those in need.

Donations can be dropped off at church anytime from now through February 8, 2026.

***Please note that UCOM is already well stocked with tomato soup, so we ask that you choose other varieties if possible. Chicken noodle soup is a favorite, but any non-tomato option is greatly appreciated.***

Every can brings us closer to our goal—let’s work together to score big for our community, one can at a time!
