Serving the Community
Seeking the fulfillment of the Realm of God already in our midst, St. John's United Church of Christ envisions a just and peaceful community. It is the mission of this congregation to live God's presence, love our neighbors, and practice the values of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
St. John's United Church of Christ values benevolence. We care for people who experience oppression and poverty, physically, mentally or spiritually within our faith community and among our neighbors through acts of charity and advocacy. We'd love to have you serve the community with us through opportunities that unite others for the good of our West Michigan neighbors and our world. See our calendar for specific dates and times.
We serve free groceries, fresh produce, dairy, and desserts to approximately 3,500 people on the NW side of Grand Rapids, MI every year.
Dégagé offers help and hope to 400 - 500 homeless and disadvantaged individuals in our Grand Rapids community every day. St. John's United Church of Christ supports Dégagé's efforts to address immediate and long-term needs by providing and serving dinner.

Writing and calling political leaders, rallying alongside peace and justice organizations, working on environmental issues, standing up for civil rights, and taking action with time, talent and resources. Change the world! Every voice counts!
St. John's United Church of Christ takes pride in working with a diverse community of partners. We participate with and support many groups with our time, talent, and donations.
