Please join us for in-person worship at 10:00 a.m. The current CDC Community Risk rating for Kent and Ottawa counties is MEDIUM:

  • If you are ill or think you are ill, please stay home and join us online

  • We promote the wearing of KN95/N95/KF94 masks within the building for group events

  • We will run air purifiers/circulators within the sanctuary and other group meeting areas when people are present

  • We will keep windows open when possible when people are present

  • We will serve prepackaged communion elements only

  • We recommend increased distancing

Bounce House This Week!

It's happening! The weather is looking great for the bounce house this Sunday, September 18, 2022. Join us for worship at 10am and then bounce in the bounce house after the service/during coffee hour. The bounce house will be at church until about 3:00pm so feel free to join us even if you can't make it until later.

Bounce House is Rescheduled

Fall Kick Off is still on!!! Everything will probably be inside, though, due to the weather. We will still have the piñata, popsicles, parachute and lots of games and food inside at Fall Kick Off tomorrow. It will be a really great time. 

The bounce house has been rescheduled to next Sunday, September 18 so that we can enjoy bouncing rain free. 

We can't wait to see you all at Fall Kick off tomorrow!

Today at 5:00 PM: Mobile Food Pantry

Many hands make light work, Last month we provided food to 95 households, 246 individuals, 43 seniors, 88 children and 11 veterans. September 7, 2022 will be the next opportunity to volunteer at the Mobile Food Pantry purchased from Feeding America by St. John's. The Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church provides the distribution site and storage space at 1550 Oswego NW, Grand Rapids, Mi, 49504.   Volunteers arrive at 5;00pm., distribution begins at 6:00pm.  Contact Teresa Markoski at tmarkoski200@yahoo.com  or at 616-690-4566 for further information, Donate to St. John's Mobile Food Pantry by mailing a check to St. John's UCC, 1934 Bridge Street NW, Grand Rapids, Mi, 40504.  Please make checks payable to St. John's United Church of Christ, designate Mobile Food Pantry in the memo.  Donations to the Mobile Food Pantry are also accepted on the church app give tab. Your continued support to the Mobile Food pantry is greatly appreciated, together we serve.

Sunday, September 11, 2022: Fall Kick-off and Community Picnic

It's time to kick-off the next year at St. John's! All are welcome!

At the worship service, we will dedicate our teachers and team leaders and children will meet with their new worship center teachers.

After worship, 

  • Enjoy a pulled chicken sandwich potluck picnic on the church lawn (weather permitting). There will also be hamburgers, hotdogs, and vegetarian hamburgers available.

  • Learn about our teams' plans for the next year.

  • There will be a bounce house, parachute, and piñata for the children!

  • There will be lots of fellowship time and games for adults!

Please plan on attending the fall kick-off and invite your friends. There are many exciting things happening at St. John's!
