Wednesday, January 05, 2022: Mobile Food Pantry

January is a great time to start volunteering at the Feeding America West Michigan Mobile Food Pantry sponsored by St. John's.  Over the past year we have served 721 households/2,504 individuals' nutritious food.  Volunteers gather at 5:00 PM, distribution starts at 6:00PM.  Dress appropriately for the weather, we will continue to work together outdoors, masked and contact free at the Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church located at 1550 Oswego NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49503.   Feel free to contact Teresa Markoski @ 616-690-4566 or email her at tmarkoski2004@yahoo.com for more details.  Donations to our mobile food pantry are welcome by selecting Food Truck on the church app give tab or by writing a check to St. John's UCC, 1934 Bridge Street, Grand Rapids, MI, 49504.  Your support to the Mobile Food Pantry is appreciated.  Together, we serve.

Join us on Wednesday, December 29 via Zoom at 6:30 pm for a brief Service of Evening Prayer.
It's an opportunity to see each other’s faces, hear each other’s voices, and catch up with each other and it's a great time to pause and reconnect during the middle of the week.

Evening Prayer and Fellowship normally happens at 6:30 pm each Wednesday but moves to 7:30 pm on the first Wednesday of the month due to our mobile Food Pantry.

While the COVID pandemic numbers in our area are above our target metrics, we continue to worship exclusively online. A small team of worship leaders (pastor, music director, liturgist, cantor, and tech) will broadcast the service from the sanctuary.

Refugee Support

Please consider helping St John's UCC to support a family from Afganistan. We have a family that is currently get settled in Grand Rapids and needs our support in many ways. Right now, we could use monetary support to buy groceries and toiletries. You can easily give on the church app and choose "Refugee Support." You can also mail a check to the church. Thank you for your continued support in the community outreach of our church.
