Sunday, June 06, 2021: Parents' Day Tea Time

Join us for a family celebration of Mothers and Fathers. A time for any children/children-at-heart and parents to join us and share what you love/loved most about your parents and maybe some favorite memories.

We'll have some fun activities for kids to do for their parents during the zoom and some time for adult members to share memories of parents; even those who have passed on or maybe who you haven't seen awhile.

Everyone is welcome. Just join Fellowship Zoom after the church service on June 6.

VBS Volunteers

We are working on planning for Vacation Bible School this year and are looking for volunteers to help. It will all be virtual/through zoom again this year. Every Wednesday in July with the hope of having an outdoor gathering after church on August 1. We can use volunteers in multiple capacities so please reach out to the education team if you are interested in volunteering at all. 

The theme is Fruits of the Spirit with the following schedule:

July 7 Christmas—love and joy

July 14 Good Samaritan—kindness and goodness

July 21 Noah—patience and faithfulness

July 28 Moses—gentleness and self control

Let us know if you’re interested in helping and in what capacity. Many hands make light work. Everyone is welcome!

Wednesday, June 02, 2021: Food Truck

St. John's UCC will join with the Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church to distribute food at our mobile food pantry.  Volunteers are needed at 5:00 PM to unload groceries, pack boxes, direct traffic, register clients , distribute groceries , set up and teardown work stations, and to deliver surplus food to local charities.  Drive thru distribution begins at 6:00 PM  Feel free to contact Teresa Markoski at (616) 690-4566 or at tmarkoski2004@yahoo.com for more details. Donations are welcome by selecting Food Truck on the church App Give tab or by mailing a check to St. John's UCC,1934 Bridge Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI., 49504.   Attendance at Feeding America Food trucks across the state has been low due to stimulus checks and an increase in food stamps. If you know anyone who would benefit from free food, please share this information.  We couldn't provide this mission without your support.  Thank you.
