St. John's UCC will join with the Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church to distribute food through our mobile food pantry. Volunteers are needed at 5:00PM to unload groceries, pack boxes, direct traffic, register clients, distribute groceries, set up and teardown work stations, and to deliver surplus groceries to charities. Drive thru distribution begins at 6:00 PM . Feel free to contact Teresa Markoski at 616-690-4566 , email tmarkoski2004@yahoo.com. Donations to our mobile food pantry are welcome by selecting Food Truck on the Church App Give tab or by mailing a check to St. John's UCC, 1904 Bridge Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI , 49504. Donna will provide an overview of the vaccines that have been approved and the vaccination program being administered by the state. She’ll also answer questions about the vaccines. The first drive-thru Mobile Food Pantry of the 2021 will take place on January 6. St. John's UCC, The Sudanese Grace Episcopal Church and The Lake Effect Church will be volunteering together to relieve hunger and to improve food insecurity in Northwest Grand Rapids. Volunteers are needed at 5:00 pm to unload, organize, pack and distribute 5,000 pounds of produce and groceries purchased through Feeding America West Michigan. Distribution starts at 6:00 pm. Masks must be worn by volunteers throughout the entire time of distribution, covering the nose and mouth and secured under the chin. Gloves will be supplied for handling bulk produce, Social distancing must be observes at all times. Clients stay in their cars. If volunteers are not feeling well, they are encouraged to stay home and take care of themselves. There will be plenty of opportunity to volunteer at a later date. There will be no Wednesday evening prayer and fellowship tonight, but it will resume next week on January 6 at 7:30 pm (due to our mobile food pantry).
