2018 Fall Kickoff Sept. 9!

It's time! Fall into church with friends and family on Sunday, September 9 at 10am as we celebrate Fall Kick-off at St. John's United Church of Christ! Gather at our 10:00am Worship Service as we welcome Rev. Wes Jamison into the life of the church as our New Pastor! Witness the excitement of our little ones as they begin a new year of children's programs in our worship center classrooms. Learn more about upcoming opportunities. Experience our free community lunch with new friends after service at our 11:00am Pork Roast, Potluck, Pie Baking Contest (categories for fruit, non-fruit, and most unique pie,) and several interactive Yard Games on the lawn for adults and kids. Bring a dish to pass or just bring your appetite. Invite your friends!

Members: Please bring table service for your family (plates, silverware, cups). We will have these items available at the potluck table for all of our guests, but would like to facilitate an easier clean-up for our volunteers who wash dishes. Thank you. See you there!

Cookout & Potluck Sunday!

Sunday, July 15, 10am - 12pm, you are invited to come celebrate Rev. Dr. Robyn Gray on her last day as the Interim Pastor at St. John's United Church of Christ. Invitations and emails have gone out, but this is another reminder that ALL are welcome to come share the meal. We would love to see you and meet your friends.

Fajitas on Father's Day!

June 17 is Fajita Sunday! After our 10am service, we will gather for authentic beef and chicken fajitas with rice, chips, homemade salsa, and toasted tortillas all lovingly prepared in our kitchen and served buffet style along with favorite potluck dishes from congregants. Non-alcoholic margaritas will be served in addition to our usual coffee, tea, punch, water. This is a FREE event with food, friends, and fun for all. Grand Rapids Pride Festival

Saturday, June 16, 12pm-10pm is Grand Rapids Pride Festival at Calder Plaza! You are ALL invited to attend and enjoy the vendors, booths, food, freedom, and entertainment featuring En Vogue, Betty Who, David Hernandez, plus special performances by Circle Theatre's production of Fun Home, and your favorite Drag Divas. The entrance fee is only $9 (free for kids under 12). All proceeds fund the programs offered at the Grand Rapids Pride Center. We have eleven volunteers scheduled to work our annual St. John's UCC booth with organized giveaways that share our extravagant welcome as a church family. You are invited! St. John's Students Give Back: Spaghetti Lunch

On Sunday, May 20 at 11am, you are invited to a Spaghetti Lunch at St. John's UCC! This meal will be prepared and presented by our Worship Center youth on their last day of class as a thank you to church family for supporting them throughout the nine month class season. Students will be given an apron and a task. High school teens are encouraged to come help younger students prepare the feast and set the tables as well.

Mother's Day Brunch

Mother's Day Brunch is this Sunday, May 13 at 11am, after our 10am worship service. We will be serving hot bread pudding, egg casseroles, a variety of pastries, juice, coffee, and tea at our Annual Mother's Day Brunch in honor of all mothers, grandmothers, and chosen family who have become maternal loved ones in our lives.
