St. John's Students Give Back: Spaghetti Lunch

On Sunday, May 20 at 11am, you are invited to a Spaghetti Lunch at St. John's UCC! This meal will be prepared and presented by our Worship Center youth on their last day of class as a thank you to church family for supporting them throughout the nine month class season. Students will be given an apron and a task. High school teens are encouraged to come help younger students prepare the feast and set the tables as well.

Mother's Day Brunch

Mother's Day Brunch is this Sunday, May 13 at 11am, after our 10am worship service. We will be serving hot bread pudding, egg casseroles, a variety of pastries, juice, coffee, and tea at our Annual Mother's Day Brunch in honor of all mothers, grandmothers, and chosen family who have become maternal loved ones in our lives. Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Save The Dates! You are invited! Our 2018 VBS Summer children's program is the week of August 6 - 10 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Dinner will be provided each night! Cost: FREE for everyone! Our fun camp theme this year is Shipwrecked: Rescued By Jesus. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details.

This is a community program open to all, so please invite your kids, grand kids, friend's kids, neighbors, and school friends so their families can also save the dates and attend this free Summer opportunity for games, projects, food, and more. Griffins Hockey Game

You're invited to the Hockey Game with St. John's UCC on Saturday, March 3 at 7pm! The Grand Rapids Griffins take on the Milwaukee Admirals at the VanAndel Arena (130 Fulton St. Grand Rapids, MI 49503) on one of their theme nights. It's Star Wars Night so we're sure to see many costumes and movie characters roaming around the arena.

Easter Egg Hunt

Mark your calendar and gather with us for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 at 11am. The egg hunt will be done in age groups so little ones find a bunch. We'll be outside on the lawn weather permitting, or inside if it's raining. Please sign up your family for the egg hunt on our fellowship bulletin board or call our office at (616) 453-2497. Volunteer Opportunities include donating candy or other items that fit inside plastic eggs, donating stuffed bunnies, filling plastic eggs, and hiding eggs. Soup and Sustenance Supper Series

You are invited to St. John's UCC Soup and Sustenance Bible Study Suppers Wednesdays at 6:30pm on February 21, February 28, March 7, March 14, March 21, and March 28. Pizza Party!

On Sunday, January 14 after worship center classes, all who participated in the St. John's UCC Youth Christmas Pageant are invited to a special Pizza Party in our church parlor! St. John's Youth Christmas Program!

You are invited to our Annual Youth Christmas presentation during worship service on Sunday, December 17 at 10am! Through photos, music, costumes, and readings, our children and grandchildren are excited to share the Christmas story. Sue Bradford is leading this joyous event.

Parents, please mark your calendars for the following costume photographs and rehearsal dates: Please bring all children to the sanctuary for costume photos at 11am on Hanging of the Greens Sunday, 11/26, and on Sunday, 12/3. Final rehearsals will be held at 11am on Sunday 12/3 and 12/10. Help us make this wonderful tradition special!

St. John's UCC Tree of Warmth

St. John's United Church of Christ's Annual Hat/Mitten Tree: You will find our hat, mitten, glove, scarf, sock donation tree in Fellowship Hall. Store-bought and hand-knitted items for all ages and sizes are welcome and appreciated. We intend to donate items to Cesar Chavez Elementary school, Cook Library Community Center, and upcoming St. John's mission outreach locations. Let's wrap our community with love and warmth this Winter!
